Mumbai Indians (MI) are currently taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 54th match of the IPL 2026 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. This is an important game for MI as a loss in this match would potentially mean that they would be knocked out of the tournament, and they would not be able to reach the playoffs. However, their regular captain Hardik Pandya is not playing for the team in this match.

Hardik Pandya suffered back spasms during training and missed the last match of MI against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to this. It has now come to light that he still has not recovered from this back spasm, and is hence missing the match against RCB as well.

Sources have told Times Now, that Pandya was not cleared by the MI medical team to take the field.
