Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also responded to Akhilesh Yadav’s comment on abolishing EVMs. He said that the SP chief does not need to worry much about the Constitution; He should worry about his party, because it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to worry about the Constitution.
If there was a law to ballot paper, we would not have had any problem with that. But when they are in power they do not raise this question. When Samajwadi Party got more seats in the Lok Sabha, they did not raise any questions regarding EVMs.

The Union Minister rejected the allegations of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi of targeting Muslims through laws like NRC. On this he said that no attempt is being made to harm any Muslim through NRC.

Muslims are also citizens of India; They have all the constitutional rights. In such a situation, eliminating Muslims is just an imaginary thing. Asaduddin Owaisi says such things without any basis. They are getting the benefits of all the government schemes, so there is no question of ending them.

He criticized Mamata Banerjee’s call for forming a joint opposition platform against the BJP. The Union Minister said that when BJP and NDA come to power, the opposition raises many questions on the Election Commission and EVMs, on the contrary, when opposition parties get more seats, we do not blame the Election Commission and EVMs.

Earlier in 2021, when Mamata Banerjee had got 215 seats, we did not blame our defeat on EVMs. Mamata Banerjee was the Chief Minister of Bengal for 15 years and she worked to pauperize Bengal. Didi promoted political crime there, that is why the people there were fed up with Mamata Banerjee and they voted in large numbers on the polling day.

Athawale said that out of five states, NDA government has come to power in three states. In Tamil Nadu, I had invited TVK chief Vijay Thalapathi to join NDA. If he had sought NDA’s support, the BJP and AIADMK alliance would have supported him. Tamil Nadu has chosen an actor.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale reacted to Vijay’s swearing-in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and commented on Rahul Gandhi attending the ceremony. He said that right now Rahul Gandhi has joined hands with Vijay, but we don’t know when he will join hands with Vijay.
