Keerthana, 29, has been inducted as the youngest minister in Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s cabinet. She is not only the youngest member of the cabinet, but is also considered an emerging new face in the politics of the state.
Keerthana had won from Sivakasi seat in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026. With this victory, he made his strong mark in the political field. It is said that he focused on digital strategy and local issues in his election campaign, due to which he got huge support from young voters.
Keerthana’s name has increasingly come into national discussion after she was given a ministerial post in the new government. He is part of the cabinet that Chief Minister Vijay has formed in his very first term. Kirthana’s specialty is considered to be his multilingual ability. She can communicate in many languages other than Tamil, due to which her political reach is considered wider. It is said that before joining politics, he had also worked in consulting and digital campaign strategy, which made him strong in organizational understanding and election strategy. The record of becoming the first woman MLA from Sivakasi region is also associated with her name. After almost seven decades, female representation was seen on this seat, which has further increased her political stature.
After joining the cabinet, Keerthana has said that the new government will try to live up to the expectations of the public and development will be given priority. She says that this responsibility is an opportunity for her, through which she can work for the state. According to political analysts, the rise of Keerthana is indicative of the growing role of youth in Tamil Nadu politics. His appointment also shows that the new government is focusing on promoting youth leadership.
