Ajay Gupta, from Sambalpuri village in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, studied under difficult conditions and secured 91st rank in the Indian Forest Service (IFS). Ajay's success, coming from a family of tendu leaves collectors, has become an inspiration for millions of youth today.
Raipur. Ajay Gupta has brought glory to Chhattisgarh by getting selection in the Indian Forest Service (IFS) on the basis of his struggle and hard work. Ajay, a resident of Sambalpuri village in Raigarh district, comes from an ordinary tendu leaf collecting family. Ajay, who used to collect tendu leaves and mahua in the forests in his childhood, has today become an officer of the Indian Forest Service.

Achieved All India 91st rank after studying in difficult conditions
Ajay Gupta continued his studies despite limited resources and financial difficulties. He secured 91st rank in the entire country in IFS exam. Now Ajay will take the responsibility of protecting and preserving the same forest, which was once the source of livelihood for his family.
Excellent performance in 10th and 12th, then got admission in NIT Raipur
Ajay was brilliant in studies since childhood. He scored 92.66 percent marks in class 10th and 91.40 percent marks in class 12th. After this he got admission in National Institute of Technology Raipur. While studying at NIT Raipur, he also received scholarship for three consecutive years. Ajay says that earlier he thought that his world was limited to the village, but after getting admission in NIT, his thinking changed and he realized that he too can fulfill his big dream.
Connection with the forest since childhood created a distinct identity
Ajay says that the forest has been an important part of his life. He had a deep connection with forests since childhood. The forest not only provided them employment but also gave them direction for life. This bond became stronger while working in Bastar.
During the days of struggle, the family made education the biggest goal.
Ajay's childhood was spent in farming and collecting forest produce amidst the forests. His parents were not highly educated, but they gave priority to their children's education. During holidays, Ajay also used to go to the forest with his parents and help in collecting tendu leaves and mahua. Despite his shortcomings, he never compromised with his studies and continued to work hard.
Scholarship schemes gave flight to Ajay's dreams
Chhattisgarh government's schemes also played an important role in Ajay's success. He got financial assistance during his studies from the scholarship of Minor Forest Produce Association and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. These schemes reduced the financial burden of their studies and gave them the opportunity to focus on their goals.

Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Ajay Gupta on his selection in IFS. The Chief Minister said that Ajay has brought pride not only to his family but to the entire Chhattisgarh. He said that it is a matter of pride that a youth who used to collect tendu leaves and mahua in the forests will now take up the responsibility of preserving those forests. The Chief Minister said that the scholarship schemes of the state government are helping in promoting talented youth like Ajay.
