Vijay as Tamil Nadu CM: Thalapathy reaches Chennai venue ahead of swearing-in ceremony

New Delhi: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C Joseph Vijay is poised to be sworn in as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu today. TVK became the largest party after securing 108 seats in the 2026 Assembly elections, but fell short of the majority mark.
With the backing of Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK, and IMUL, TVK will become the first party to form a government in Tamil Nadu outside the DMK and AIADMK since 1967.
