Gujarat Titans thumped Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs in their IPL 2026 encounter at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Saturday to move to second on the points table and take one step closer to qualifying for the playoffs. Chasing a daunting total of 229/4, Rajasthan lost wickets at regular intervals despite an electrifying start to the innings. Gujarat Titans’ innings began in style as openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill continued their prolific partnership and built a 118-run opening partnership, putting RR bowlers under extreme pressure. Sai Sudharsan struck 55 off just 36 deliveries with six fours and one maximum to his name while Shubman Gill scored a brutal 84 off 44 balls including 9 fours and three maximums. Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia continued the momentum later on in the innings. For RR, rookie pacer Brijesh Sharma bagged two wickets, while Punja and Jadeja scalped one each.

 

Rajasthan Royals chase began with a flier with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who smashed 36 off 16 balls and Dhruv Jurel who hammered 24 off only 10 deliveries. Rashid Khan dominated in the middle overs, picking up 4 important wickets in his spell.
