Ravindra Jadeja has produced a fiery new celebration just after he claimed the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler, while in the RR vs GT match in the IPL 2026 fixture that took place at Jaipur on Sunday night, in what was a must-win game for both the teams in the bid for playoff spots.

 

Rajasthan Royals won the toss, with captain Yashasvi Jaiswal opting to bowl first. In the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan got their team off to a flying start with an opening 118-run stand.

 

With Rajasthan Royals on the backfoot, Jadeja had stepped in at a crucial time to dismiss Buttler before he could inflict more damage on RR.

Jadeja's 'Pocket' Celebration Goes Viral

 

Jos Buttler was sent to the crease when Gujarat Titans were well positioned, and he certainly had the ability to keep the scoring rate at bay. However, he came up against a wily operative in the 13th over who proved that experience could count for a lot.

 

Jadeja lobbed it outside off-stump tempting Buttler into a shot over covers, but the GT keeper-batter mistimed the shot as Donovan Ferreira completed an easy catch. Buttler fell for 13 off 10 balls.

 

As soon as Jadeja claimed the wicket, he showed a new "pocket" celebration which brought many smiles. It was as if Jadeja said he "put him in his pocket". He certainly has made it difficult to play against himself over the years.

This was also the 11th time Jadeja has dismissed Buttler in all forms of cricket.

 

Jadeja Shines Again for Rajasthan Royals

 

The all-rounder, who came to the Rajasthan Royals franchise before IPL 2026, has been one of the most dependable RR bowlers this season. He went for just 34 from four overs, while picking up a wicket during his spell against Gujarat Titans-and controlled a big-scoring encounter.

 

Across nine games in this tournament to date, Jadeja has picked up eight wickets and is RR's leading economy bowler with an economy under eight an over.

 

He has also been decent with the bat in 2026, scoring 152 runs from seven knocks, including a match-winning unbeaten 43 against the Lucknow Super Giants earlier in the tournament.

 

Despite his efforts, Gujarat Titans amassed 229/4 off 20 overs-the highest first innings score ever recorded in IPL history at the Jaipur ground.
