May 9: During the 28th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan dedicated to the four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Swami Ram Swarup, a prominent Yogacharya, elaborated on the profound significance of Rigveda Mantra 7/67/8. He emphasized that the Almighty imparts divine wisdom through the Vedas, teaching that the Supreme Being deserves worship from all individuals, regardless of gender.

Swamiji pointed out that contemporary social norms, which restrict certain individuals from worshiping based on caste, contradict Vedic teachings and displease the Almighty. He encouraged everyone to embrace Vedic wisdom, foster love and noble actions, and worship the singular, omnipresent Creator of the universe.

Discussing the Vedic worship process outlined in the Upanishads, Swamiji highlighted three crucial stages of spiritual practice: Shravan (listening), Manan (contemplation), and Nididhyasan (practical application). He referenced Samaveda Mantra 50, urging, “Shrudhi Shrutkarna,” which translates to, “O capable listener, heed the teachings of God through the Vedas.”

He also cited Atharvaveda Mantra 1/1/4, where the devotee expresses a desire to continuously engage with the Vedas. Swamiji explained that deep contemplation on Vedic mantras is termed Manan, and when this understanding is firmly integrated into one’s intellect and actions, it is known as Nididhyasan. He expressed concern that while many hear spiritual teachings, only a few genuinely incorporate Vedic principles into their lives.

Using an example from the Mahabharata by Maharishi Ved Vyas, Swamiji recounted the dialogue between Yaksha and Yudhishthir. When Yaksha inquired about the correct path for human existence, Yudhishthir responded that historically, all individuals adhered to a unified path—the Vedic path—reflected in their behavior.

Swamiji elaborated that Yudhishthir highlighted the limitations of human arguments and differing opinions in discerning truth. He asserted that genuine authority resides in the wisdom of enlightened sages and the eternal Vedas. Referring to Yoga principles, he noted that the Vedas and enlightened Rishis are regarded as authentic sources of truth.

In conclusion, Swamiji quoted the well-known phrase, “Mahajano Yena Gatah Sa Panthah,” meaning that the path taken by great sages, ascetics, and enlightened beings is the most noble. He stated that since ancient times, those who comprehended the Vedas and followed the eternal Vedic way of life achieved liberation.
