8th Pay Commission News: A very good news is coming for lakhs of central employees and pensioners of the country. If you too are eagerly waiting for the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission, then there is relief news for you.

According to the latest estimates, the Pay Commission may submit its much-awaited recommendations to the government by the first half of 2027.

The most important thing is that after the implementation of these recommendations, the employees are expected to get hefty arrears. It is believed that even if the report comes by May 2027, it will 1 January 2026 Will be considered effective from. This means that employees can get about 17 to 18 months of outstanding money i.e. arrears. The government can give this amount in lump sum or in installments, due to which a huge amount will come into the pockets of the employees.

Pay Commission in action mode: Work has started

Let us tell you that the tenure of the Seventh Pay Commission has ended on 31 December 2025. Understanding the urgency of the times, the Central Government had constituted the Eighth Pay Commission in November 2025 itself. Now the team of the Commission has started its work at full speed.

It is reported that a special team of the Commission will arrive at the end of this month, i.e. 24 April 2026 Is going to visit Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The main objective of this visit is to collect suggestions and important information from experts and employees of various fields. According to an official circular issued on March 30, any organization or stakeholder who wants to express their views to the Commission can make an appointment.

Suggestions are being sought on the website: April 30 is the last date.

The Pay Commission had also launched an official website in the month of February to make its functioning transparent. Through this portal, feedback is being sought from employees, pensioners and various organizations. Last date for suggestion 30 April 2026 Has been decided. This process will ensure that the new recommendations are practical and that the interests of the employees are fully taken care of. The final venue and detailed schedule of the meeting will be shared separately soon.

What will change in your salary?

Recently, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary had informed in the Lok Sabha that the Pay Commission is preparing a detailed report on the salary structure, allowances, pension and other related issues of the employees. It is believed that when the Eighth Pay Commission will be implemented, the old Dearness Allowance (DA) Will be merged into Basic Salary.

After this, the new calculation will start from zero, which will provide better protection to the employees from the impact of inflation. At present, employee organizations are demanding that 50 percent DA be included in the basic salary, so that they can get immediate interim relief. If this happens, there will be a bumper increase in the salaries of employees from lower to higher levels.
