Tezzbuzz Desk – There has been a big change in the politics of Tamil Nadu, where actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK has come very close to forming the government. The ongoing political uncertainty regarding majority now seems to be ending.

According to sources, VCK and IUML have announced their unconditional support to TVK. Both the parties have 2-2 MLAs, due to which there has been a big increase in the support of Vijay. With this, TVK now has the support of a total of 120 MLAs, which is more than the majority figure of 118.

Earlier, Thalapathy Vijay had met the Governor for three consecutive days, but due to not being able to prove majority, he could not receive a formal invitation to form the government. Now after the new support, the party has sought time to meet the Governor and has prepared to stake claim to form the government by submitting a letter signed by the MLAs.

TVK has surprised everyone by emerging as the largest party by winning 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. However, after giving up one seat, the party is left with 107 MLAs. Despite this, Vijay’s position has become stronger with the support of Congress, Left parties and now VCK-IUML.

Congress had already announced support to TVK, which has five MLAs. At the same time, 4 MLAs from left parties have also joined TVK. After adding all these supports the total number has reached 120.

However, VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan has clarified that the party will take a decision on joining the government later. At the same time, IUML had also initially talked about staying with DMK, but after the change in political equation, it decided to support TVK.

Now all eyes are on when Thalapathy Vijay formally stakes claim to form the government and how a new chapter begins in Tamil Nadu politics.
