The actor recently came back to Tamil cinema after the 2008 film Satyam with a role opposite Rajinikanth in director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie. The 2008 film marked his debut in a standalone Tamil film (earlier, he starred in the Tamil-Kannada bilingual H₂O).
