Weather patterns: Warning of rain and hailstorm amid summer
Today, on May 9, 2026, the weather is going to take a turn once again in many parts of the country. Releasing the latest update, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain and thunderstorm for 13 states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The next 8 hours can be very heavy for many areas of the country, so people have been advised to be extremely cautious.
According to meteorologists, winds can blow at a storm speed of 75 kilometers per hour during this period. Its biggest impact is likely to be seen on the states of Eastern India, where hailstorm may occur along with strong thunderstorms. If you are planning to go on a trip to the mountains, then this news is very important for you, otherwise bad weather can spoil the fun of your trip.
cyclonic wind system
The main reason for this sudden change in weather is a new western disturbance. A cyclonic system is forming in the upper part of the air over north-western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Uttarakhand. Along with this, an upper air cyclonic circle is also active over south-western Uttar Pradesh. In view of this changing weather, farmers have been advised to avoid going out in the open and take care of the safety of their crops.
