A car has crashed into "multiple pedestrians" with several injured - including one with life-threatening injuries - in a busy Nottinghamshire town centre. A red Vauxhall Astra was involved in the incident, which happened in Market Place, Arnold, at 1.12am today (May 9).
Nottinghamshire Police said a several people were struck by the vehicle, with one of the pedestrians sustaining life-threatening injuries. The car was abandoned at the scene following the incident, with the driver then fleeing on foot. Officers have identified a suspect - believed to be a white man - and are in the process of tracking him down. A number of roads have been closed, with pictures from the scene showing a large police cordon in place. The red car, which shows signs of significant damage, can be seen within the cordon opposite Hallam's Lane car park.
