A very important news has come out for lakhs of central employees and pensioners of the country. The demand for formation of 8th Pay Commission has now intensified and the date of 31st May is going to be very special for this. Employee unions have completed preparations to submit the memorandum to the government, the deadline for which has been fixed as May 31. It is believed that as soon as this new pay commission is implemented, a historic increase can be seen in the minimum salary and fitment factor of the employees.

The deadline to submit memorandum is 31st May, what is the strategy of the unions?

Various central employee organizations and railway unions have started putting pressure on the government. The main objective of submitting the memorandum is to officially bind the government to constitute the 8th Pay Commission. Employees argue that after the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, there has been a lot of change in inflation and standard of living. By May 31, suggestions and data will be collected from all concerned departments and unions and submitted to the government, so that the Pay Commission process can be brought back on track before the next budget.

There will be another increase in Dearness Allowance (DA), crossing the limit of 50%!

Amidst the discussions of the 8th Pay Commission, there is also good news regarding DA (Dearness Allowance). According to current data, dearness allowance of central employees has touched the 50 percent mark or is about to go above it. According to the rules, when DA reaches 50 percent, it is merged into the basic salary and the allowances are revised. This is also likely to lead to a direct increase of up to 25 percent in the House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances of the employees.

How much will your salary increase after the 8th Pay Commission?

According to experts, if the government approves the 8th Pay Commission, the fitment factor can be increased from 2.57 to 3.68. If this happens, the minimum basic salary of employees may increase from ₹ 18,000 to directly cross ₹ 26,000. Apart from this, there will be a huge jump in the pension of pensioners. Although the government has not yet given any official approval on the formation of the Pay Commission, all eyes will be on the government’s response after the memorandum is submitted on May 31.
