In 2006, filmmaker David Frankel directed The Devil Wears Prada based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger.

The movie starred Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci in the lead roles and went on to make a huge $326 million on a $35 million budget.

Now, 20 years later, its sequel titled The Devil Wears Prada 2 has released in theatres marking the return of the lead actors playing the fan-favourite characters.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 Massive Cast Salaries Revealed

Unlike part one, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is made on a significantly high budget of $100 million.

And director David Frankel revealed earlier that the majority of that $100 million budget is due to the massive cast salaries.

Now, a report in Variety has revealed that the trio of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt negotiated a huge $12.5 million each which is roughly Rs 118 crore.

Not just that, besides their $12.5 million payday, the trio of stars also cut a deal about the box office bonuses.

Considering the movie is now earning big money at the worldwide box office, Streep, Hathaway and Blunt will also be getting an additional $20 million as box office bonus which is roughly Rs 188 crore.

This means by the end of the movie’s box office run, the three lead stars will be taking home $32.5 million (Rs 306 crore) total fee.

The comedy drama has so far made $324 million in week one of its release and is expected to make around $40 million in the US in its second week, which would take its global biz to $400 million plus in 10 days.
