Argos hands out £109 TVs but Amazon has a deal that's even cheaper

If you are in the market for a new TV but want to spend as little as possible, Argos and Currys have one for £109, but Amazon has an even cheaper deal right now. The retail giant is currently selling a 32-inch TV for just £103.50, a bargain basement price for a new screen.

The Finlux MH24F is a smart Fire TV that runs Amazon's Fire OS, so can natively run apps including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube, Now TV and TNT Sports, and it even has Freeview built in, so you can tune into scores of channels for free.

Now, I stress that we haven't tested this particular TV, but what you get for a little over £100 could be just the ticket.

Once you clock that though it was enormous in 2001, 32 inches is not huge by 2026 standards. But if all you need is a small TV, perhaps for your bedroom or kitchen to beam streaming services onto every now and then for you and the kids, this Finlux Fire TV fits the bill.

It even has HDR10 and Dolby Audio support for compatible apps, and as its an Amazon Fire TV, it has Amazon's Alexa voice assistant, so it can answer queries or you can use your voice to ask it to play certain shows or films, or open various apps.

All you'll need is a plug socket and Wi-Fi connection to get things going with the TV. Simply log in to the services you are subscribed to, and away you go.

There are also the official BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Channel 4 apps available - so as long as you have a TV license, you're able to watch tons more shows or live TV completely free.

While £103.50 is a great price, also bear in mind that the speakers on this little screen may not be what can be described as 'room-filling'. They may pass the test for casual viewing, but don't expect your front room to be transformed into anything approaching cinematic.

You also get an HDMI port or two on the back, so this is also a solid affordable TV to hook up a games console or even DVD player if you fancy a night of old school entertainment.

Amazon says this is a "limited time deal", with no indication of when the price might go back up. So, if you want a cheap TV for about a hundred quid, you might want to get this one bought before the price increases.

Alternatively, Finlux also has a much larger 55-inch model that even has 4K resolution, a decent upgrade on the 32-inch HD version. That 55-inch TV is currently discounted to £225 from £379, and might be the more sensible buy.
