These days the action of IPL 2026 is going on in full swing. But amidst this action, some ruckus is coming to the fore. One such big controversy has now come out of Indian cricket, which has been revealed for the first time. A complaint has been filed against Team India's young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and the women's team's young opener Shefali Verma, who are playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, regarding dope test. A report has revealed that both these stars of Indian cricket were not available for the dope test, due to which a complaint has been made to BCCI and ICC.
This shocking revelation has been made in a report. According to this report, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has sent notices to both the players in December due to their not being available for the test. Shefali and Yashasvi are among some of the Indian cricketers included in NADA's Registered Testing Pool (RTP). All the players included in this pool have to inform in advance every year as to when and where they will be and if they are not found there, a notice is sent to them. This is called violation of 'Whereabout clause' and Yashasvi-Shefali have violated it.
Missed the test, did not even respond to the notice
It has been told in the report that on December 17, when the Dope Control Officer (DCO) arrived to take the test, Yashasvi was not present at the place mentioned earlier. Similarly, on November 7, Shefali was also not at her stated location. In such a situation, both these players could not be tested. Both the star cricketers not only made this one mistake, but after this, when NADA sent them a notice and asked them to send their reply on 18th and 20th February, Yashasvi and Shefali did not even do this.
Due to this, the agency registered 'miss test' in the names of both of them under 'whereabout failure'. Now NADA has once again sent a notice to both of them and sought their reply within 7 days. Besides, this information has also been given to the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) and ICC, which are bound by the rules of NADA and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
What will happen to Yashasvi-Shefali now?
Now the question is whether any action will be taken against Jaiswal and Shefali in this regard? The answer is no. At present only one 'miss test' has been registered in the name of both of them. According to the rules, players involved in RTP get 3 chances within 12 months. If these players miss the test on all three occasions, then disciplinary action is taken against them. The accused players have to present their explanation before NADA and if they are not satisfied with their answers, they can be banned for up to 2 years.
