Violent Attack on Groom During Wedding Procession in Hamirpur

In a shocking incident in the Mjhgawan police jurisdiction, a wedding procession from Jhinna Veera village to Imlaur in Banda was violently interrupted by a group of assailants. The groom, identified as Munnilal, along with four others, sustained injuries during the attack. Additionally, their vehicle was completely vandalized.



Following the assault, the injured groom was taken to the hospital. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing approximately nine individuals attacking the groom with over a hundred blows in just 20 seconds. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.


Reports indicate that Munnilal, a farmer from Jhinna Veera, was traveling in a white Swift Dzire car with his brother Jagdev Rajput, Muraat Rajput, his 17-year-old niece Roopali, and Jagdev's two children, Gagan (6) and Amrita (4).


Attack Details

The wedding procession reached the Bus Stand in Basela, located about 30 kilometers from the village, when around 15 individuals, who had been lying in wait, surrounded their vehicle. Before the family could react, the attackers launched a brutal assault using sticks and sharp weapons.


As a result of the attack, Munnilal suffered severe injuries to his head and body, while his elder brother Jagdev also sustained serious wounds. Roopali, Gagan, and Amrita were also injured. The assailants caused extensive damage to the car, rendering it unusable.


Police Response

Rajiv Pratap Singh, the Circle Officer of Rath, confirmed that a case has been registered regarding the assault on the groom. The attack is believed to be motivated by a previous feud.
