A Unique Collaboration Unveiled

Billie Eilish, the talented singer-songwriter, has disclosed that renowned filmmaker James Cameron reached out to her mother, Maggie Baird, via email to propose the idea of adapting her world tour into a 3D concert film.

During the premiere of 'Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)', Eilish recounted how this unexpected partnership with the director of 'Avatar' came to fruition.

Eilish explained, 'Cameron sent an email to my mom because his wife is friends with her, or they had collaborated in the past.'

She continued, 'He had the entire concept laid out. He asked, 'Why hasn't anyone filmed Billie's concert in 3D? Can we do it? Can I do it?'

The forthcoming film, co-directed by Eilish and Cameron, will transform her sold-out 2025 world tour into an immersive 3D cinematic experience.

Describing the idea as 'insane,' Eilish expressed her admiration for Cameron's innovative vision.

'Where did that come from? How did he think of it? I have no clue, but I'm grateful he did. That's how it all started. We spoke on the phone and made it happen,' she shared.

The Grammy-winning artist revealed that she immediately agreed to the collaboration, stating, 'Oh my God, I didn't even think twice. Are you serious?'

Reflecting on her experience working with Cameron, Eilish commended his enthusiasm and commitment on set.

'Watching him work is incredibly motivating because he has boundless energy and is willing to do whatever is necessary to capture the perfect shot,' she remarked.

Cameron, for his part, acknowledged Eilish's significant role in shaping the concert experience even before filming commenced.

'What you need to understand about Billie is that she is fully aware of her artistic direction,' Cameron noted.

'I filmed it, but she crafted the show. As my co-director, she had already accomplished so much before I even arrived,' he added.

The film will also highlight Eilish's brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas O'Connell, and will capture moments of the singer engaging with her fans throughout the tour.
