In an IPL 2026 match played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Kolkata Knight Riders registered a magnificent victory, defeating the Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets.

Batting first, Delhi posted a total of 142 runs in 20 overs; however, KKR chased down this target in just 14.2 overs.

The undisputed hero of this victory was Finn Allen, who smashed a blistering century in explosive fashion.

Finn Allen Unleashes a Storm

Chasing the target, KKR got off to a brisk start. Captain Ajinkya Rahane was run out after scoring 13 runs, but Finn Allen subsequently launched a fierce assault on the Delhi bowlers.

Allen hammered an unbeaten 100 runs off just 47 balls. His innings featured 5 fours and 10 towering sixes, played at a strike rate exceeding 212.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed early, but Cameron Green provided excellent support to Allen. Green scored 33 runs off 27 balls, guiding the team comfortably to victory.

The Delhi bowlers failed to exert any pressure throughout the match. Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam proved to be quite expensive.

Earlier in the match, batting first, the Delhi Capitals got off to a decent start. Pathum Nissanka scored a brisk 50 runs off 29 balls, while KL Rahul contributed an innings of 23 runs.

However, the middle order collapsed completely; Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi, and Tristan Stubbs were unable to play substantial innings.

Delhi’s Middle Order Fails Again

Delhi captain Axar Patel managed to score only 11 runs off 22 balls. Towards the end, Ashutosh Sharma scored 39 runs to push the team’s total past the 140-mark, but the final score proved insufficient.

For KKR, Kartik Tyagi and Anukul Roy claimed two wickets each, while Sunil Narine also delivered a tight bowling spell.

After this explosive innings of Finn Allen, he was chosen as the player of the match. With this massive victory, KKR has further consolidated its position on the points table, while Delhi Capitals’ batting has once again come under scrutiny.
