What is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a wax-like substance found in the blood. The body needs it to create healthy cells, but excessive amounts increase the risk of heart diseases. High amounts of cholesterol cause accumulation of fatty substances in the blood vessels. Which increases many times and due to this it becomes difficult for adequate amount of blood to flow through the heart arteries. Sometimes the sudden rupture of this deposited substance leads to the formation of a clot, which increases the risk of heart attack or stroke.
