Kolkata Knight Riders remain alive for the IPL 2026 playoffs following an 8 wicket win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. A century by Finn Allen during the chase carried the KKR home.

Chasing a score of 143, KKR took just 14.2 overs to chase the score and end the game at 147/2. Allen finished on 100* off just 47 balls, taking 5 fours and 10 sixes during a destructive innings. It also happens to be his maiden IPL ton.

KKR did lose skipper Ajinkya Rahane for 13 through a run out early into the innings and it was soon followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi being dismissed for 1 through Axar Patel.

However, Allen completely took the game away from Delhi from the word go and during the powerplay as well. He had an able partner at the other end in Cameron Green (33 off 27).

Finn Allen Smashes the Delhi Bowlers to Bits

Allen went after the Delhi bowlers from the start. He was good against both the pacers and spinners, and at no point did it seem like the bowlers were able to get under the skins of the KKR batsmen after the loss of the two quick wickets.

He reached his half-century and never looked back until he smashed a boundary in his nineties to bring up his maiden IPL hundred. The KKR innings also came at a crucial time for them in order for them to remain in the tournament.

The Delhi bowlers were at their wits end. Kuldeep Yadav was hit for 41 off his 3 overs and Vipraj Nigam gave away 34 off his two overs.

Axar Patel was the only bowler to finish with a wicket and ended his innings with figures of 1/27 off four overs.

Delhi Capitals Fail With Bat Again

Earlier in the game after being put in to bat Delhi Capitals made 142/8. Pathum Nissanka led the way for the capitals making 50 off 29 deliveries, supported by 39 off 28 deliveries from Ashutosh Sharma.

No other player managed to make a significant impression with bat. Captain Axar Patel had a slow day at the office, making 11 off 22 deliveries with KL Rahul getting 23.

All the KKR bowlers bowled tight overs and bowled economically throughout the innings. Anukul Roy and Kartik Tyagi took 2 wickets apiece, with Narine and Cameron Green taking the other 2 wickets for KKR.

This comprehensive victory gives KKR a much needed shot in the arm as Delhi Capitals slump further to yet another IPL 2026 failure.
