Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma once turned a low-key outing in Bengaluru into a massive public frenzy because of their immense star power. During a visit to a well-known restaurant in the city, the celebrity couple reportedly attracted huge crowds after word of their presence began spreading among fans.
According to a recent interview, the situation escalated quickly as people gathered in large numbers outside the venue, causing severe congestion and a major traffic blockade in the surrounding area.
The crowd reportedly became so unmanageable that local police later reached out to the restaurant management with a special request, asking them to notify authorities in advance whenever any high-profile celebrity planned to visit the establishment in the future.
Speaking to Pinkvilla Biz, Ganesh Poojari, the director of Bengaluru’s iconic eatery Central Tiffin Room, opened up about the chaos that unfolded during a visit by Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma.
Recalling the incident, Ganesh revealed that he had first received a call about the celebrity couple’s planned visit nearly three days in advance. However, he initially dismissed it as ‘fake’ and did not take the information seriously. In the days leading up to the visit, he reportedly continued receiving calls from a ‘local reference who manages VIP movement,’ but assumed it was simply unnecessary hype.’
It was only a few hours before the couple’s arrival that the calls became more persistent, followed by a final confirmation just minutes before Virat and Anushka reached the restaurant. What followed, according to Ganesh, was complete mayhem as fans flooded the area once news of their presence spread across the city.

Ganesh said, “I got a final call saying they are actually here at the corner, and have come in two cars. I still thought it is not real and after that, two cars came outside the entrance. We made them comfortable. They were with families… She couldn’t recollect the last time. She said it was a while ago and now, ‘I have come with my family and husband. We don’t have time, but we have come. We have been craving for so long so we actually had to make time and we just came here’”.
Ganesh Poojari further shared that an entire floor at Central Tiffin Room had been specially cleared for the visit of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. Recalling the interaction, he described Anushka as “very good to talk to” and revealed that when she was asked how she knew about the iconic Bengaluru eatery, the actor mentioned that she used to visit the restaurant during her college days.

Ganesh also opened up about the chaos that unfolded as the celebrity couple stepped out of the restaurant. According to him, the crowd situation became completely unmanageable, leading to severe traffic congestion in the area.
“At that moment, outside the restaurant, the entire road was blocked, no vehicles could pass, and there were people madly waiting for the couple to exit. When we opened the doors, they couldn’t even get inside the car,” he said.
He further claimed that after the incident, the restaurant received a call from the local police station requesting the management to inform authorities beforehand whenever any major celebrity planned to visit the outlet. Virat and Anushka had visited CTR back in 2023.
