Emmerdale's Dr Todd's exit 'sealed' and only one villager can 'take her down'

Fans of Emmerdale believe they've rumbled Dr Todd's exit, and only one villager can take her down. ITV soap viewers will know that Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) began mentoring new student doctors at Hotten General Hospital back in January 2025. This is where she first met Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant).

Last month, Dr Todd accepted Jacob into an exclusive mentorship programme she was running and assigned him the task of developing a research question for them to work on. The pair are now involved in a disturbing workplace bullying storyline, with Dr Todd cruelly taking advantage of the youngster.

The plot came to a head last month when Jacob lodged a complaint with HR regarding Todd's behaviour. However, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) soon managed to get him to drop it, after the evil doctor threatened to tell Jacob that his newborn daughter, Leyla, wasn't his biological child - she is, in fact, Charity's daughter with Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

This week, Jacob confronted Todd after she maliciously implied to Sarah (Katie Hill) how her husband was desperate to return to work, despite their newborn baby. A furious Jacob later found Todd in the Woolpack corridor and warned her off from lying to his wife.

During Thursday's (May 8) episode, Jacob went to the hospital to lodge another complaint against Todd, before learning that she had managed to beat him to it. The doctor had made several allegations against Jacob, backed by false evidence. Desperate to get Todd to leave him alone, Jacob tried to play her at her own game by getting her to admit her wrongdoing at Tug Ghyll.

"The truth only matters if people believe it, and nobody believes you, Jacob, nobody that matters," she said, as Jacob's phone secretly recorded her. "You have made my life hell," Jacob said, with Todd replying: "And the fun I've had doing it."

She went on: "Oh, 'I want to make you the best doctor you can be.' You're never gonna be a doctor. You're not smart enough, you're not strong enough, you're not determined enough... What you are is pathetic and weak. And by the way, you're not the first, and I doubt you'll be the last."

Explaining why she's targeted him, Todd added, "Maybe I just enjoy it. It's like, erm... It's like popping balloons. Oh, dear. Oh, dear, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna cry?" Todd then spotted Jacob's phone and quickly grabbed it, then deleted the recording.

Now, several Emmerdale fans believe that one villager can help Jacob retrieve the files. ITV viewers will know that Ryan Stocks (James Moore) is a technology expert, so he would have the capabilities to get the recording back and possibly force Todd out of the village.

"I hope Jacob had a second recording device, please," one person wrote on a Facebook fan page, with another adding: "Ryan is the tech expert, I bet you he can find it."

A third said: "Yeah, I was gonna say get Ryan on it, he's the only one that can help," with another viewer similarly sharing: "Yes, please to Ryan. Once that recording gets retrieved, they can finally get evil Dr. Todd to leave." A fifth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "Come on, Jacob, let's take her down!"

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, while Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV's new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
