In view of the irregularities to some IPL franchises and players, BCCI has issued a strict advisory. Keeping in mind the safety of the players and support staff, BCCI has implemented strict rules regarding the entry of visitors to the hotel.

After all, what happened that BCCI was forced to take such a big decision just before the peak of the IPL season? The answer to this was given by BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia.

Why did BCCI issue a new advisory?

Actually, the BCCI Secretary says that during the IPL season 2026, it was seen that some ‘unauthorized’ People have been found traveling with teams, entering hotels and team buses, and even going into players’ rooms. This is a violation of anti corruption protocol. That’s why BCCI has taken this big step.

After the arrival of this new guideline, now no person, regardless of his relationship with the player or staff, will be able to enter the hotel room without a permission letter and prior information to the team manager. It has also been made clear that relatives and guests will be allowed to meet only in public places like lounges or lobbies. Permission letter will now be required to enter the player’s room.

Danger of honeytrap-like risks

High profile players participate in IPL 2026. In such a situation, it is necessary to be cautious regarding their safety. BCCI also has to be prepared for risks like honeytrap during the IPL season. BCCI has taken this decision out of caution for the safety of the players of IPL franchises so that any controversy can be avoided.

Place of playoff and final match changed

Let us inform you that the venue has been selected for the playoffs and finals of IPL 2026. The first playoff of the season will be held in Dharamshala. The second and third matches will be held in New Chandigarh. The final match will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB were winners last year, so as per normal protocol, a playoff match and the final match should have been held in Bengaluru. But due to some reasons, it has been decided to shift one match to New Chandigarh and the final match to Ahmedabad.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association had demanded 10,000 additional tickets over and above the permitted 15% limit of tickets, which was in violation of IPL rules and the Supreme Court order regarding ticket distribution. Therefore, it was decided to change the venue of the match. Some IPL franchises and players are also included in this.
