Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla continues to dominate the box office with Rs 150 crore net in India over three weeks and Rs 234.93 crore gross worldwide.

Priyadarshan’s horror comedy earned Rs 84.40 crore in week one, Rs 43.75 crore in week two, and Rs 21.85 crore in week three. Despite slowing daily collections, the film maintains its lead in overall earnings.

Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji has emerged as a historic success for Marathi cinema. The film closed its first week with Rs 52.65 crore net, including Rs 36.25 crore from Marathi screenings and Rs 16.75 crore from Hindi. It achieved the highest-ever first Monday for a Marathi release and entered the top five highest-grossing Marathi films. Strong turnout in Maharashtra and critical acclaim have powered its debut run.

Audience bases differ significantly. Bhooth Bangla enjoys a pan-India reach, while Raja Shivaji dominates in Maharashtra. Marathi occupancy exceeded 25 per cent in Pune, while Hindi screenings saw lower turnout. Bhooth Bangla sustains broader market presence despite reduced third-week occupancy.

A payment dispute has surfaced around Bhooth Bangla. Two vendors alleged unpaid dues of Rs 48 lakh, citing delays beyond the 90-day clearance period. Balaji Motion Pictures denied the claims, asserting that all contractual obligations have been met.
