Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has been a massive blockbuster as a franchise, and well, it looks like the kind people at Jio Studios aren’t done with the movie just yet. Singh and company have given Indian cinema one of the biggest films yet, and now, it looks like there’s more in store for the fans, because Jio Studios’ Jyoti Deshpande has gotten fans excited.
Here’s what she had to say.
Jyoti Deshpande on not being done with Dhurandhar yetIn a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Jyoti, while talking about what an amazing journey it has been with Dhurandhar thanks to Aditya and Ranveer, said that she is pretty sure that the director still has an ick, and they might still have something up their sleeves.
She went on to say how Dhar is currently busy spending time with his son, and is enjoying the period of bliss since he couldn’t do much of that earlier, but they might have a surprise for the fans later this year. “We’re not done with Dhurandhar yet. We’ll hopefully have a surprise for the audience later this year. There’s something up our sleeves,” she said.
The details about what’s in store for the fans are obviously not out, and might not be revealed until much later, but even if there’s no third part to Dhurandhar, it gives fans something to look forward to at the end of the year.
Reddit
As one will have it, Reddit already has theories, with most people believing that it is the ‘behind the scenes’ making of the movie. However, some fans hoped it is not just that. Someone wrote, “Hope it's not that as a fan... Hoping for some really good sequel…” Someone else commented, “OMG SO EXCITEDDDD.”
The first film, released in 2025, managed to collect a whopping Rs. 895.96 crores. Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026) went on to break so many records by earning a whopping Rs. 1100.55 crores at the box office. The franchise has been one of the biggest we’ve ever seen from Indian cinema – one that broke records overseas as well.
Releasing the film in two parts because of the runtime was a strategy that no one knew might work so well, but it obviously wasn’t about going the traditional way, and so, it became a talking point, and eventually, despite not having a UAE release, it did massively well.
It is clear that the makers aren’t done with the film just yet, so the audience has something to watch out for now. Along with Ranveer, Dhurandhar also featured Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles.
