CUET UG Exam 2026: The CUET UG examination, organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is set to begin on May 11, 2026. This exam will take place in 15 cities across India and internationally. The NTA has released essential guidelines for candidates in preparation for the exam.

Key Guidelines for Candidates

According to the NTA, candidates are allowed to wear clothing or carry items that reflect their religious beliefs. However, it is crucial for them to arrive early at the examination center for thorough frisking and security checks.

The NTA has confirmed that religious threads, such as the *Kalava* (sacred thread), are permitted. Candidates are advised to wear light-colored clothing, preferably white, and may wear woolen attire if necessary. Again, arriving early is essential for security screening.

Important Points for Candidates

Candidates Must Keep the Following Points in Mind:

All candidates must carry the specific photo ID that was uploaded during their online application and is printed on their Admit Card.

If a candidate's "live photograph" does not match the one on their Aadhaar card, or if they registered with a different ID, they must bring the original certificate for verification on exam day.

This certificate should be signed and verified by a Principal/Headmaster or a Class-I Gazetted Officer (like a Tehsildar or SDM) or a Class-I Gazetted Officer at an Indian Embassy for NRI candidates.

The certificate format must comply with the NTA's Public Notice dated April 07, 2026.

Exam Schedule and Format

CUET UG 2026 Exam Date: The CUET (UG) 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31, 2026.

Exam to be Held in 35 Shifts Nationwide: Candidates can select up to 5 subjects, leading to over 6.7 million (67 lakh) examinations being conducted, with each student typically choosing 4 to 5 subjects. This has resulted in a significant increase in the scale of the examination, which will be executed in 35 shifts across the country.
