Manipal: Manipal Academy of Higher Education recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Special Olympics Bharat in a move aimed at promoting inclusivity, mutual cooperation and social development.
The collaboration seeks to empower specially-abled individuals through education and awareness programmes. Both organisations will work together to ensure equal opportunities and inclusive growth for them in society.
Special Olympics Asia Pacific President and Managing Director Deepak Natali, Special Olympics Bharat President Dr Mallika Nadda, MAHE Pro Chancellor Dr H. S. Ballal, MGMG Advisor Lt Gen Dr M. D. Venkatesh, Registrar Dr P. Giridhar Kini, Vice Chancellor Dr Narayana Sabhahit and Special Olympics Bharat Acting Secretary General D. G. Chaudhary were present during the event.
Dr Mallika Nadda and Dr P. Giridhar Kini signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the agreement, MAHE and Special Olympics Bharat will jointly organise educational and awareness programmes at different levels of society. The initiative also aims to encourage empathy among people and institutions and promote a future based on equality and inclusion.
