LSG secure 9-run win over defending champions RCB in IPL 2026

Lucknow Super Giants managed to break their losing streak. They secured a 9-run win over the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match No. 50 of the IPL 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Chasing 213 in 19 overs due to three rain breaks, Bengaluru were restricted to 203 for 6 in 20 overs.

Jacob Bethell (4) and Virat Kohli (0) were dismissed early, with Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav doing the damage. Captain Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal added 95 runs for the third wicket to keep Bengaluru in the game.

Patidar amassed 61 runs off 31 balls, including 6 sixes and 3 fours. On the other hand, Paddikal accumulated 34 off 25, laced 3 boundaries and 1 maximum.

However, Padikkal, Jitesh Sharma (1), and Rajat departed in quick succession, allowing Lucknow to stage another comeback.

Tim David was sensational, taking just 14 balls to post 40, smashing 4 fours and 3 sixes in the process. Krunal Pandya (28 off 16) and Romario Shepherd (16) tried their best but fell short in the end.

Prince took three wickets while Shahbaz Ahmed claimed two scalps. It was LSG’s third win of the season, but they are still in the tenth spot. On the other hand, RCB are third in the standings with 12 points from 10 fixtures.

Earlier, Lucknow’s opener Mitchell Marsh played one of the best innings of his IPL career, posting 111 runs in 56 balls, laced with 9 fours and 9 sixes.

Nicholas Pooran (38 off 23) and skipper Rishabh Pant (32* off 10) took the score to 209/3.

Josh Hazlewood, Krunal, and Rasikh Salam got rid of one batter each.
