The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened a short correction window for CUET-UG 2026 candidates following widespread complaints about being allotted examination centres hundreds of kilometres away from their preferred cities.
Students can now apply for a change in examination state, date and/or shift till May 7, 11:50 PM. The move comes after many aspirants, especially from Delhi, Haryana and Bihar, expressed serious concerns over high travel costs, accommodation expenses and logistical difficulties.
For instance, Delhi students were allotted centres in Agra, Jaipur and Mohali. Many have multiple exam dates spread across May, making repeated inter-state travel extremely challenging and expensive.
Basis: First come, first served, subject to slot availability
Revised admit cards will be issued to those who make changes
Candidates who do not apply within the deadline will have to appear at their originally allotted centre, date and shift.
It stated that 79% of candidates received their first-choice city while 96.6% got one of their preferred cities.
This short correction window offers some relief to stressed students ahead of the CUET-UG 2026 exams beginning May 11.
