It has been more than seven weeks since the film was released in theatres, but there was suspense regarding its OTT release date. Now due to a legal dispute (Court Case), the makers of the film have had to disclose its streaming plans in the court.

The controversy over the song ‘Tirchi Topi Wale’ revealed the secret

Actually, a controversy has arisen over the remix version ‘Rang De Lal’ of the famous song ‘Tirchi Topi Wale’ used in the climax of the film. Rajiv Rai, director of the film ‘Tridev’, has filed a case in the Delhi High Court against the makers, accusing them of unauthorized use of the song.

  • Makers’ statement in court: During the same hearing, the film’s production house ‘B62 Films’ informed the court that the film is still performing well in theatres.

  • Release likely in mid-May: Makers told that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is not likely to come on OTT before mid-May.

On which platform will it be streamed?

While the first part of this franchise was released on ‘Netflix’, there has been a big change regarding the digital rights of ‘Dhurandhar 2’. According to reports, its streaming rights have been bought by JioHotstar for a huge amount (about ₹ 120-150 crore).

Expected Date of OTT Release

Usually a theatrical window of 8 weeks is kept for big Bollywood films.

  • The film, released on March 19, 2026, will complete its 8 weeks on May 14.

  • In such a situation, there is a possibility that this film may hit JioHotstar by 14th May or the last week of May.

‘Dhurandhar’ reigns supreme at the box office

This film, directed by Aditya Dhar, has proved to be the biggest Bollywood hit till date.

  • Indian Box Office: The film has created history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the ₹1000 crore (net) mark in India.

  • Worldwide Collection: The film has grossed approximately ₹1800 crore worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing Indian film after ‘Dangal’.
