The leak also hints at a major display upgrade. OnePlus 16 is tipped to feature a BOE flat display with an “ultra-high refresh rate.” Earlier reports claimed that OnePlus was testing refresh rates between 185Hz and 240Hz. However, it is still unclear if the final device will support 240Hz.
The display is also expected to use LTPO and LIPO technologies, which may help reduce bezels to nearly 1mm on all sides.
OnePlus 16 expected features
On the camera front, the OnePlus 16 smartphone is tipped to feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The rear camera setup may also include a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
OnePlus 16 could also bring a big battery upgrade. The latest leak suggests the phone may pack a battery as large as 9,000mAh. Previous leaks had also pointed to the same battery size.
Other expected features include a bionic X-axis vibration motor, dual stereo speakers, full water resistance, and a dedicated AI button.
For software, OnePlus 16 is expected to run OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17. The smartphone is reportedly being prepared for a China launch in October, though OnePlus has not announced any official launch timeline yet.
According to rumours, other features on OnePlus 16 may include symmetrical dual speakers, full water resistance, a bionic X-axis vibration motor, and a dedicated AI hardware button to easily access OnePlus AI features.
