Actress Sadia Khateeb has categorically dismissed the ongoing plagiarism rumors surrounding the film *Dadi Ki Shaadi*, which stars Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma. Her response comes amidst comparisons being drawn to a Pakistani telefilm of the same name. Sadia Khateeb also played a pivotal role in that telefilm.
**Sadia's Reaction to *Dadi Ki Shaadi***
Sadia stated that the title of the film *Dadi Ki Shaadi* was announced a long time ago. Speaking to the media, Sadia said, "We announced the title in December 2025, right when we began shooting. The Pakistani telefilm came out after that."
**The Stories Are Different**
Sadia firmly asserted that the two stories are not alike. She stated, "We haven't copied anything from anyone. This is completely different from the Pakistani telefilm. The entire storyline is distinct."
**The Story of 'Dadi'**
The film tells the story of an elderly woman (Dadi) from a family who suddenly falls in love and wishes to remarry. This leaves the entire family astonished. Neetu Kapoor's daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, will also be seen in this film. The movie is directed by Ashish R. Mohan.
**Working with Neetu Kapoor**
Praising Neetu Kapoor, Sadia said, "Working with her was a wonderful and fun experience. She is very natural and genuine. She made everything so easy for me." *Dadi Ki Shaadi* is a comedy-family drama film.
**Screening and Release**
Prior to the film's release, a special screening was held on May 5, attended by several members of the Kapoor family—including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt—as well as actress Rekha. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 8, 2026. In addition to Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma, the cast features Sadia Khateeb and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. R. Sarathkumar, Satinder Kasoana, and Teju Kolhapuri also appear in supporting roles in the film.
