CSL Jobs 2026: A promising job opportunity has emerged for young individuals who have passed the 8th grade. Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has released the notification for the Rigger Trainee Apprentice recruitment for 2026. A total of 40 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. The online application process commenced on May 6, 2026, and interested candidates may submit their applications by the specified deadline. Specific quotas have been allocated for various categories within this recruitment; these include 16 posts for the General category, 13 for OBC, 7 for the SC category, and 4 seats reserved for EWS candidates.

A key highlight of this recruitment is that only candidates who have passed the 8th grade are eligible to apply. If a candidate possesses higher qualifications—such as a graduation degree, a diploma, or any qualification beyond the 8th grade—they will not be considered eligible for this recruitment.

What is the Age Limit?
As of May 30, 2026, a candidate's age must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 23 years. In other words, the candidate must have been born between May 31, 2003, and May 31, 2008. OBC candidates will be granted an age relaxation of 3 years, while candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories will receive a relaxation of 5 years.

How Much Stipend Will Be Provided?

During the training period, a monthly stipend of ₹11,000 will be provided in the first year, followed by ₹12,000 per month in the second year. Furthermore, if a candidate is offered employment on a contractual basis following their selection, they will receive a salary of approximately ₹22,100 per month during the first year. Additionally, separate remuneration will be provided for any extra duties performed.

What is the Selection Process?

Regarding the selection process, candidates will first be required to undergo a Physical Test, which will carry a maximum weightage of 100 marks. Before this, a document verification process will be conducted. Should the volume of applications received be exceptionally high, the company reserves the right to conduct a preliminary screening test. To qualify in the Physical Test, candidates from the General and EWS categories must secure a minimum of 50 marks; OBC candidates require 45 marks, and SC candidates require 40 marks. The merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in the physical test. If two candidates secure equal marks, the older candidate will be given priority.
