New Delhi. There’s some good news for those traveling from India to Nepal. The Nepal government has taken a significant decision, making it easier for Indians to travel to Nepal by road. The Balen Shah government of Nepal has implemented a new provision for vehicles entering the Nepal border, which will no longer require people traveling from India to Nepal to wait in long lines at the border.
Freedom from long lines at the border:
Under the new rule of the Nepal government, there will be no need to stand in line for hours to get entry passes for vehicles to cross the border. Now Indian vehicle owners crossing the Nepal border with their vehicles can register online. Nepal’s Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has launched this new online registration service today, Wednesday, May 6, to make the journey of tourists visiting Nepal easier.
The facility to renew a vehicle pass
is also available for a specific period of travel to any country, and this is provided by the government of that country. Now, if your vehicle’s validity period expires while traveling in Nepal, you don’t need to visit the customs office; you can renew your pass through this online service. Shyam Prasad Bhandari, Director General of the Customs Department, says that the entire process has now been made digital and transparent. You can register for this new service on the official website of the Nepal Customs Department.
How to register?
First, visit the Customs Department’s official website.
Then, go to the “Our Services” section.
Then, select the TIV (Temporary Vehicle Import) option and provide all the information.
You’ll then receive a QR code, which you can use to pay the registration fee.
When entering Nepal from India, you’ll need to show this QR code, which will grant you entry at the border without waiting in long queues.
