Approximately 90 minutes into the broadcast, co-host Craig Melvin informed viewers that Savannah had to leave early, assuring them, “She’ll be right back tomorrow.” No specific explanation was provided for her abrupt departure, but it coincided with the ongoing investigation into her mother’s case. Savannah had just returned to the show on April 6 after a two-month break to support her family during the search for Nancy.

Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was last seen at her residence in Tucson, Arizona, around 9:30 PM on January 31. She was reported missing the next day when she did not attend church. Authorities have since classified her home as a crime scene, citing evidence that suggests she did not leave voluntarily.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has stated that the investigation remains active. Officials suspect that Nancy may have been abducted from her home, as surveillance footage captured a masked individual approaching the property and tampering with a security camera.

Sheriff Chris Nanos has indicated that investigators discovered signs of foul play at the scene. He emphasized that Nancy had health issues and required daily medication, which could pose serious risks if not taken for over 24 hours. However, authorities have clarified that her mental faculties are intact, and her disappearance is not linked to dementia.

Savannah, along with her siblings Camron and Annie, has made heartfelt appeals for any information regarding their mother's location. In a poignant interview earlier this year, Savannah expressed, “We are in agony. It is unbearable.” The sheriff’s department has confirmed ongoing collaboration with the FBI, and DNA and video analyses are being conducted as investigators pursue new leads and tips.
