A New York court has released Jeffrey Epstein’s purported suicide note from his unsuccessful attempt in 2019, following a request from a prominent media outlet. This handwritten document, which is said to be difficult to read, was created after Epstein's attempt to take his own life in his Manhattan jail cell in July 2019, shortly after he was arrested on charges of sex trafficking.

In the note, Epstein seemed to allude to the investigations and the legal proceedings against him, stating: “They investigated for month — found nothing!!!” Another line suggested: “So 16 year old charge results!” The note also contained various emotional and enigmatic remarks, such as: “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.” He concluded with: “Time to say goodbye,” and added, “Watcha want me to do — burst out crying!!” The last line reportedly stated: “NO FUN — not worth it!!” This document has resurfaced amid ongoing scrutiny regarding Epstein’s initial suicide attempt in jail. He survived the July incident and later accused his cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer and convicted murderer, of assaulting him. Tartaglione subsequently provided the note to his legal team, claiming it supported his assertion that he did not attempt to harm Epstein. Reports confirm that the note was authenticated as Epstein's writing. Epstein passed away in August 2019, just a month after the note was allegedly penned, with authorities ruling his death a suicide after he was discovered unresponsive in his cell. The release of this document has reignited interest in the final days of Epstein’s life and the events that transpired during his time in federal custody.
