New Delhi: After the election results of West Bengal and Assam came out, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor reacted openly and was seen praising the BJP leadership. Generally, such statements are rarely seen amid political opposition. Shashi Tharoor praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and said that both the leaders have done a good job in election management. He admitted that the strength of his strategy and organization was important behind the success achieved in Bengal and Assam.
In these elections, BJP formed the government in the state for the first time by winning 207 out of 294 seats in West Bengal. At the same time, by winning 82 out of 126 seats in Assam, the party returned to power for the third consecutive time. These results made it clear that BJP has strengthened its hold in both the states and has left the opposition behind.
Congress advised to introspect
While talking to media agency ANI, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also underlined the strength of BJP’s organization. He said that PM Modi and Amit Shah have done good work in Bengal and Assam. He attributed this to his ability in conducting elections. He said, ‘BJP is professionally organized. They have a very strong organization and use every resource including financial in the election campaign.
Along with praising BJP, Shashi Tharoor advised his own party Congress to introspect. He said that Congress should learn some things from BJP, which can be beneficial for Congress in future. He clearly said that the party will have to understand where there are shortcomings and what needs to be improved.
Mention of Congress’s success in Kerala
Tharoor also mentioned the election results of Kerala, where the Congress-led alliance got a big victory. He said that the party performed better in the state and won many seats. Along with this, he said that the experience of Kerala shows that by adopting the right strategy, the situation can be improved in other states also.
Tharoor said that Congress still has a chance to learn from its mistakes and move forward. He stressed that the party should think deeply and prepare a strong strategy. According to him, if the party works in the right direction, better performance can be achieved in the future.
