The importance of ecology in traditional religion is immense. It is believed that it is important to follow Vastuniyam to maintain happiness and prosperity in the home. Many a times we do something wrong unknowingly, the evil effect of which brings chaos and scarcity in the world. We need to be very careful in advance, especially in keeping puja items or sacred things. According to Vastum, there are five things which are gravest injustice to put directly on the ground. This angered the gods and brought misfortune to the householder.
Shivlinga and Shalgram rocks
According to ecologists, Shivlinga and Shaalgram rocks are very sacred. Shivalinga is considered to be the symbol of Devadeva Mahadeva and Shaalgram is considered to be the form of Lord Vishnu. These two items should never be placed directly on the floor. It is always advisable to keep them in a clean cloth, wooden throne or copper vessel while cleaning the puja room or for other purposes. Otherwise the effect of negative energy in the house increases. There is spiritual humiliation.
Images of gods and goddesses and conch shells
Many of us put the idols on the ground while cleaning the temple. According to Shastra it is very inauspicious. Images of idols or deities should always be placed on a high place or pure seat. The same rule applies to conch shells. It is believed that Mother Lakshmi resides in the house where the conch is kept. Placing the conch directly on the ground angers the goddess, leading to the possibility of financial loss.

Puja lamp
The lamp brings the message of light by dispelling darkness. Lighting a lamp during puja is a symbol of auspicious energy. But this lamp should never be placed in direct contact with the ground. The lamp should always be placed on a small plate or stand. It is possible to get the full results of the puja.

Gold ornaments
Sona is considered as the form of Mother Lakshmi. So it is important to follow some rules in using gold or gold jewelry. According to Vastu Shastra, gold ornaments should never be placed on the ground. Even wearing gold on the feet or ankles is considered inauspicious. Gold jewelery should always be wrapped in a clean cloth and stored carefully in a cupboard or box.
