Under the OBC Computer Training Scheme of Uttar Pradesh Government, more than 29 thousand youth were given O Level and CCC courses in 2025-26. The government is bearing the entire cost of fees, due to which the youth are getting digital skills and better employment opportunities.
Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is continuously making efforts to strengthen the youth digitally. In this direction, the computer training scheme for the boys and girls of Other Backward Classes (OBC) is proving to be an important step. More than 29 thousand youth have been trained under this scheme in the financial year 2025-26. This scheme is playing an important role in making the youth self-reliant.
O Level and CCC Course: Thousands of youth took training
Under this scheme, training is given to such young men and women of intermediate pass OBC category, whose family annual income is Rs 1 lakh or less. The government provides this training through institutions recognized by NIELIT of the Government of India. A total of 29,191 youth received training in the year 2025-26, out of which 22,407 youth completed O Level and 6,784 youth completed CCC course. These figures show the popularity and success of the scheme.
Free Computer Training: Government is bearing the entire fee expense
Under this scheme, 299 institutions have been selected in the state.
- 52 institutes only O level
- 43 institutes only CCC
- 204 institutes are running both the courses
The duration of O level course is 1 year, whereas CCC course is completed in 3 months. The government pays the fees up to a maximum of Rs 15,000 for O Level and Rs 3,500 for CCC directly to the institutions, which provides great relief to the students.
Transparent Selection Process: Selection is done at the district level
If a student deposits the fees earlier, then after verification this amount is returned to his account. This makes the scheme more transparent. The application process is completely online, where candidates and institutions can apply through the official website. The institutions are selected under the chairmanship of the Director and the beneficiaries are selected by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, due to which the benefits of the scheme reach the eligible people.
Digital Empowerment: Steps towards better employment opportunities
According to Umesh Pratap Singh, Director of Backward Classes Welfare Department, the main objective of this scheme is to provide better employment opportunities to OBC youth by making them technically competent. This scheme is being implemented with complete transparency under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Every year a large number of youth are taking benefit from this scheme and making their mark in the digital age.
