At the closing ceremony of the North Tech Symposium-2026 held in Prayagraj, Yogi Adityanath said that “Nation First” should not be just a slogan but the guiding principle for every citizen. He said that modern warfare has now expanded beyond traditional boundaries to cyber, space, data and electromagnetic spectrum.
Prayagraj, 6 May. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that now the fight has spread beyond borders to cyber, space, data networks and electromagnetic spectrum. Along with traditional warfare skills, now technical proficiency, strategic thinking and mental toughness have also become mandatory. In today's warfare, keyboards, satellites and data are as important as conventional weapons. Disrupting the enemy's communication network and keeping its systems safe is becoming the basis of the new war strategy. In such a scenario, only that nation will be ahead, which can establish a balance between courage and technology. “Nation First” is not just a slogan, but the life resolution of every Indian soldier. This should also be the guiding principle for every citizen, because the nation is supreme and nothing is greater than that. CM Yogi was addressing the closing ceremony of North Tech Symposium (NTS) 2026 on the theme of "Raksha Triveni Sangam" in Prayagraj on Wednesday.
Keyboard is also an effective weapon in modern warfare
The Chief Minister said that be it the freezing cold of Siachen, the scorching sand of the desert, the darkness of the dense forests or the infinite challenges of the sea and the sky, our soldiers remain ready in every situation. It is only because of their watchful eyes that the entire country remains safe and secure. Modern warfare is no longer limited to just water, land and air, but has entered the era of multi-domain operations. Areas like cyber, space and electromagnetic spectrum have become equally important in war. The keyboard has also become an effective weapon. Disrupting the enemy's power grid, radar, GPS, banking and communication systems or making its own networks secure and impenetrable is part of the new security strategy. Surveillance, intelligence and navigation through satellites have now become the 'eyes' and 'brains' of war. Now the battle is also being fought through signals and data.

UP made remarkable progress in defense sector
The Chief Minister said that global circumstances, especially war-like situations, have made it clear how necessary self-reliance is in defense manufacturing. A few years ago, India's defense exports were only around Rs 600 crore, but with continuous efforts today we have the capability to export defense products worth Rs 38 thousand to Rs 50 thousand crore. India is now providing defense products to friendly countries. Uttar Pradesh has also made significant progress in this field. Work is going on at a rapid pace on the six major nodes of the Defense Industrial Corridor in the state, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh and Chitrakoot. Investment proposals worth more than Rs 35,000 crore are coming on the ground in these nodes. The government has created a large land bank under the defense and aerospace policy and attractive incentives are being provided to investors. Aligarh has emerged as a major center for manufacturing of small arms and defense equipment, while Kanpur is becoming an important hub for the production of ammunition, missiles, defense textiles and protective gear. Special attention is being given to BrahMos missile and heavy defense manufacturing in Lucknow and Jhansi nodes, which is further strengthening the military capability of the country. Development in the field of aerospace and precision engineering continues at Chitrakoot and Agra nodes to strengthen the country's capability in all dimensions of defence, including the space domain.
UP Defense Corridor helpful in improving the capability and security of soldiers
The Chief Minister said that cannon shells, indigenous drones, bulletproof jackets and advanced communication systems are being manufactured under the UP Defense Corridor. All the facilities required for the Defense Manufacturing Corridor are available in Uttar Pradesh. The state has 56 percent youth and skilled workforce and a strong base of 96 lakh MSME units, which are linked to various industrial sectors. Adequate land bank is also available at all 6 strategic nodes. The state government is continuously striving to create a market-ready and industry-ready workforce through skills, innovation and technology. In this sequence, Drone Center of Excellence has been developed with IIT Kanpur, while new Centers of Excellence are also being established in various fields through the State Forensic Institute. A strong ecosystem for defense manufacturing is being developed in all strategic nodes.
Our tradition is to accept knowledge wherever it comes from.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride to see the Prime Minister's vision being realized in the defense sector through this symposium. This symposium knowledge,
Startups established in hi-tech areas
CM Yogi said that in the last few years, more than 21,000 startups have been established in Uttar Pradesh, which is an important platform for exchange of experience and innovation in AI, robotics, drones, semiconductors. Referring to the basic mantra of Indian culture, “Aa No Bhadra: Kratvo Yantu Vishwatah”, he said that it has been our tradition to accept knowledge wherever it comes from and this symposium is taking forward that spirit. Actors are working in high-tech areas like data centers and electric vehicle manufacturing. With the coordination of safety, technology and trust, the state has left behind its sick image and has established itself as the growth engine of the country. Zero tolerance policy towards crime and disorder has been our resolve. Uttar Pradesh has reached this point by traveling from mafia to rule of law and from nuisance to celebration.

No one should mistake our generosity for weakness
The Chief Minister said that Indian culture has always imbibed the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Generosity is a part of our culture, but it is essential to have strength and power to protect it. Referring to the lines of national poet Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' in this context, he said that only the one who has sufficient strength can speak the language of forgiveness and peace effectively. India is not increasing its strategic and internal strength so that it can attack anyone, but so that no one considers its generosity as weakness.
Law and order model of UP is an example in the country and the world.
The Chief Minister said that when we assumed power in the year 2017, the state was struggling with anarchy, disorganization and identity crisis. Then we resolved to establish 'Rule of Law' and strictly implement the zero tolerance policy towards crime and criminals. Today, the law and order model of Uttar Pradesh is an example in the country and the world. This strong law and order created a reliable and investment friendly ecosystem in the state, which gave impetus to new opportunities for industry and employment. Defense corridor is also a part of it. Today the state has the country's largest infrastructure network in the form of expressways, highways, modern railway connectivity, metro network and air connectivity.
On this occasion, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, Industrial Development Minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Lieutenant General V. Hariharan, Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh Rajiv Krishna, SIDM Vice President Neeraj Gupta, IIT Kanpur Professor A.K.
