The first incident happened in Jalandhar at around 8:15 pm. Here there was an explosion in a scooter parked outside the BSF Punjab headquarters. There was chaos in the area after the explosion. However, it is a matter of relief that no casualties have been confirmed in this incident yet.
Explosion in Amritsar after a few hours
A few hours after the Jalandhar incident, an explosion took place near the Army Camp in Khasa area of Amritsar at around 10:30 pm. According to local people, the sound of the explosion was heard up to a distance of about one and a half kilometres. Not only this, the intensity of the blast was so much that even the walls of the campus shook.
Security agencies reached the spot
After both the incidents, the Army and Punjab Police immediately became active. Forensic teams have also been called to the spot and evidence is being collected. The surrounding areas are being surrounded and investigated.
According to officials, at present no major damage or loss of life has been confirmed in both the incidents. However, a thorough investigation is underway to find out the nature of the blasts and the reason behind them.
Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said, "At around 8 pm, our patrol team was present here. A scooter was parked near the gate. Suddenly it caught fire. We are gathering information from BSF. According to the initial information, the scooter belonged to a person working here and when he came here, it caught fire. We want to investigate the incident from every aspect."
