According to sources, following a significant victory in the 2026 assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari has emerged as a leading candidate for the Chief Minister position in West Bengal. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a crucial assembly meeting in Kolkata on May 8, where final decisions regarding government formation and leadership will be made. It is anticipated that Adhikari will be elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party, marking a vital step before claiming to form the government.
