New Delhi: Tata has brought the top-of-the-line Ultra trims for the diesel-powered Harrier and Safari SUVs with prices standing at Rs 23.84 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh, respectively. The carmaker has also launched the Ultra Red Dark trims for the diesel versions of these SUVs. Previously, it was just the petrol powertrain of Harrier and Safari that offered the top Ultra trim, with the suffix coming with the Fearless and Accomplished trim, respectively.
Having driven the petrol trim of the Safari in the Dark Red trim, the insides are quite interesting and sporty to be in. We had found the soft touch quite decent, and overall, the cabin, though it might not be to everyone’s taste, was a fun experience.

The Ultra trim sits above the Fealress X+ in the harrier line-up and above the Accomplished X+ in the Safaris. Both SUVs come with a bigger 14.53-inch infotainment system with a Samsung display, Dolby Atmos, a digital interior IRVM with an in-built dashcam, which we had first seen in the Harrier EV.
There’s also a white-and-brown dual-tone interior theme, on-board navigation, a memory function for the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), an app suite, a sliding front armrest, a wash function for the front and rear parking cameras and a 65W Type-C charging port.
Further, there’s the Ultra trim of both SUVs coming in the Red Dark Edition, which comes with cosmetic changes like the 19-inch blacked-out alloy wheels with red brake callipers and even an exclusive Nitro Crimson colour for the Harrier (in diesel trim). The cabin comes with a ‘Carnelian Red’ theme, with a red finish for the leatherette seats.
Both the Harrier and Safari diesel are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo mill that makes 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, mated with a six-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic.
