Isha Ambani just arrived at the Met Gala 2026 and she did just what we wanted! The businesswoman and philanthropist embraced the “Fashion is Art” theme, and donned a powerful look representing an India that has stories to tell. Keep reading to understand Isha’s red carpet look.

Isha’s met gala saree moment

For the big night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Esha chose a custom draped sari by designer Gaurav Gupta, styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania. But this was not your classic saree moment. The outfit was conceptualized as a wearable artwork, combining fluid drapes with sculptural elements to transform the body into a canvas.

Made using pure gold threads, the saree featured hand-painted motifs inspired by traditional Pichwai art, brought to life in muted gold and earthy tones.

Adding emotional depth to the outfit was her blouse, which featured diamond and metallic zardosi work, which came from her mother Nita Ambani’s personal jewelery collection. This heritage was further enhanced with statement pieces like layered necklaces and earrings, cementing a sense of generational style and heritage.

20 Years Old Mango “Bag” Moment

In a move that truly blurred the lines between fashion and art, Esha wore a sculptural mango piece by artist Subodh Gupta, which she said was more than 20 years old, on the red carpet.

Her beauty game was equally dreamy. Isha sported glowing, luminous makeup with soft tones that made the outfit shine. Her hair, styled half up and half down, was accessorized with a dramatic jasmine-inspired headpiece, a modern take on the classic mogra gajra, which was hand-crafted over hours using mixed materials.
