Nick Nurse Attends Brother’s Funeral, Anticipated Return for Game 2 Against Knicks

Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse missed the team's activities on Tuesday as he attended the funeral of his brother, Steve Nurse, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62. Following the 76ers' 137-98 loss to the New York Knicks in the first game of their playoff series, Nurse departed for the service held in Ankeny, Iowa, and is expected to return for Game 2 on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Condolences from the Knicks Coach
Knicks coach Mike Brown extended his condolences to Nurse and his family during a press conference at the team's training center in Greenburgh, New York. He expressed sympathy, saying, "Life is precious and you don't wish that upon anybody, so I'd like to pass along my condolences to him and his family while they're going through these times."
