Music composer and director  has landed in legal trouble after his ex-fiancée and cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend, Vigyan Prakash Mane, filed a police complaint in Sangli against the former. In his complaint, the woman cricketer’s friend accused the musician of using casteist remarks against him on November 22, 2025, at the toll plaza on the Sangli-Ashta road. According to Vigyan Prakash Mane’s complaint, Palash accused him by using casteist remarks. After the complaint by a 34-year-old resident of Shatri Nagar, police immediately registered a case against Muchhal under the Atrocities Act.

 

According to a report published in TV9 Marathi, the police revealed that Palash Muchhal had contacted Vigyan Mane and taken Rs 25 lakh from him for the production of a film. When the wedding between Palash and Smriti was called off in November 2025, Mane demanded his money back.

On November 22, 2026, when Mane went to demand his mock back, a heated argument broke out between Palash Muchhal and Vigyan Prakash. During the argument, Palash reportedly abused Vigyan by using some casteist slurs. After the new complaint was filed against the musician, Sangli city police have registered a case against Palash Muchhal under Section 3(1) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Sections 351(2) and 352. The cops have already initiated the investigation against Palash Muchhal.

 

While speaking with the media, Vigyan Mane said that he believes in the Indian constitution. According to him, Palash Muchhal took him into his confidence and got Rs 25 lakh from Mane to produce a film. “He had promised me to complete the film in 6 months. However, he turned out to be a fraud. When I demanded my money back, he avoided giving it. When I went to meet him, he abused me by using casteist remarks; I can’t even use them on camera. His mindset is very dirty,” Vigyan Mane added. The cops are currently finding more information regarding the matter.

 

Palash Muchhal and   were madly in love with each other. They were supposed to get married in Sangli (Smriti’s hometown) in November 2025. However, the wedding was called off due to some unknown reasons. Later, the couple announced their split on social media.
