UP Crime News: In Kanpur, a vicious gang carrying out incidents of robbery targeting women has been exposed. This gang used to carry out the crime so cleverly that the victims did not understand till late that they had been robbed. But the police's 'Operation Trinetra' has revealed the entire story of this organized gang.
The auto journey was not a ride, it was a trap.
Investigation has revealed that this gang used to make women sit in autos on the pretext of a ride and then taking advantage of the opportunity, they would steal cash and valuables from their bags. The most shocking thing in this whole game was that the auto driver himself was a part of this gang. That is, the auto on which women considered themselves safe was proving to be a trap for them.
Entire network exposed by one incident
The case started when a woman passenger lodged a complaint that Rs 25,000 in cash, earrings and rings were stolen from her bag while traveling in an auto. Initially it seemed to be a case of ordinary theft, but when the police started investigating in depth, a big gang was exposed.
'Operation Trinetra' became a gamechanger
Under Operation Trinetra, the police scanned the footage of more than 500 CCTV cameras. Along with this, support of technical analysis and surveillance was taken. This digital investigation played an important role in tracking the activities of the gang and ultimately the police reached the accused.
Three criminals arrested, many incidents revealed
Naubasta police station has arrested three vicious thieves in this case. Investigation revealed that this gang had been targeting women for a long time and had committed many crimes. According to the police, the gang used to work in a very planned manner and used to change the location immediately after every incident, which made it difficult to catch them.
Rs 5 lakh recovered, even a scooter was purchased
The police have recovered all the stolen goods from the accused. This includes cash, jewelery and other valuables. The total recovery is said to be around Rs 5 lakh. Not only this, the police has also seized the Activa scooter purchased with the stolen money, which was used by the gang in other activities.
On this entire matter, Deependra Nath Chaudhary said that the exposure of this gang was possible due to continuous monitoring and technical investigation under Operation Trinetra. He has appealed to the people, especially women passengers, to be cautious while traveling in public transport and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Crime network broken through technology and vigilance
This action of Kanpur Police has made it clear that no matter how vicious the crime is, it cannot survive for long in the face of technology and careful investigation. However, this incident is also a warning that criminals can carry out crimes on a large scale even with the help of simple means used in everyday life. In such a situation, awareness and vigilance is the biggest protection.
