Vikramotsav 2026 received Gold and Silver Awards at WOW Live Awards. This 139-day long event reached out to 17.72 crore people and strengthened the cultural identity of Madhya Pradesh on the global stage.
Vikramotsav 2026, organized by Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth under the Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, has got a big achievement this year. The event received two major honors at the Shows of India Conclave 2026 held on 1 and 2 May 2026 in New Delhi.
Vikramotsav was awarded the Cultural Live Event of the Year (Gold Award) and Best Government Integration for a Live Event (Silver Award). These awards were given under WOW Live Awards. Soon the organizing team will come to Bhopal and hand over this honor to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Vikramotsav: The world's longest cultural event
Vikramotsav is considered to be the world's longest running cultural event. It includes not only cultural programs but also business and social activities. The event was organized by EVENTFAQS Media, a leading platform for event and experiential marketing. This year, more than 300 entries were received, which were evaluated by an expert jury.
Proud moment for Madhya Pradesh: Culture gets global platform
Chief Minister's cultural advisor and director of the research institute Shri Ram Tiwari said that this honor is a matter of pride for the entire Madhya Pradesh. He said that this achievement is a symbol of the state's rich cultural heritage and modern presentation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of “Inheritance to Development” is being taken forward under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Vikramotsav has now become a big platform for tradition, innovation and cultural expression.

139 day event: confluence of culture, society and environment
Vikramotsav 2026 lasted for a total of 139 days. It started with Varsha Pratipada and also included Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan regarding water conservation.

- More than 41 activities organized
- Participation of more than 4000 artists
The first phase was completed with famous musician Pritam's 'Shivoham' program on Mahashivratri. The second phase ran from March 19 to June 30, in which programs related to water conservation and social awareness were held.
Mahanatya in Varanasi: The Saga of Emperor Vikramaditya
Under Vikramotsav, a great drama based on Emperor Vikramaditya was staged in Varanasi from 3 to 5 April 2026. Its objective was to convey his justice and good governance to the common people.
New identity for cultural heritage
Vikramotsav is now not just an event but has become the identity of Madhya Pradesh. This event is establishing the state on the global stage by combining tradition, culture and modernity. This achievement inspires to organize better events in future and paves the way to take the state to new heights in the cultural field.
